Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1

Go to Haridwar as planned. Go to Haridwar and settle into your hotel. You may observe the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. Thousands of oil lamps make the ghats seem magnificent. Stay in Haridwar for the night.

Day 2

Drive 210 miles from Barkot to Haridwar in 7 hours. Drive to Barkot after breakfast through picturesque hill villages and green scenery. On your way, you'll pass Kempty Falls, which is close to Mussoorie. When you get to Barkot, head to your camp or hotel. Dinner and stay night in Barkot.

Day 3

Travel from Barkot to Yamunotri and then back to Barkot. In the morning, drive to Janki Chatti or Phool Chatti. The climb to Yamunotri begins at that point and goes about 6 kilometers. You can swim and pray at the Yamunotri Temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, at Surya Kund, a holy place. After darshan, walk back to Barkot. Spend the night in Barkot.

Day 4

Barkot to Uttarkashi (4 hrs, 100 km) After breakfast, head to Uttarkashi, a holy city on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. The famed Kashi Vishwanath Temple is a must-see when you reach there. You have the night off to relax and reflect about your spiritual life. Spend the night at Uttarkashi.

Day 5

Go from Uttarkashi to Gangotri and then back to Uttarkashi. To reach to Gangotri early, use the scenic Harsil Valley route. Pray at the Gangotri Temple, which is where the Ganga River begins, and swim in the sacred Bhagirathi River. After darshan, come back to Uttarkashi. Dinner and a night in Uttarkashi.

Day 6

It takes 9 hrs to drive 220 miles from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi. After breakfast, drive through magnificent valleys and where rivers combine to come to Guptkashi. When you get there, go to the holy Ardh Narishwar Temple. Dinner and a night in Guptkashi.

Day 7

Leave Guptkashi and take the road to Kedarnath through Sonprayag. Get in your automobile and drive to Sonprayag. Then, head to Gaurikund to start the 16-kilometer hike to Kedarnath. People who are going on a pilgrimage can also pay more to ride ponies, palkis, or helicopters. When you get there, proceed to the holy Kedarnath Temple, which is one of Lord Shiva's twelve Jyotirlingas, and ask for blessings. Stay the night near the Kedarnath Temple.

Day 8

Going from Kedarnath to Guptkashi If you want to, you can attend to the Abhishek Puja in the morning. After darshan, stroll back to Gaurikund and then drive to Guptkashi. One night and one dinner in Guptkashi.

Day 9

It takes 9 hrs to go from Guptkashi to Badrinath, which is 230 miles away. After breakfast, drive through Joshimath to Badrinath, which is one of the most important Vaishnavite shrines. Check into your hotel when you arrive there. In the evening, head to the Badrinath Temple next. Spend the night in Badrinath.

Day 10

Travel from Badrinath to Mana Village and then to Rudraprayag. Take a holy bath in Tapt Kund to start your day, and then travel to Badrivishal Temple to see the god. After there, head to Ganesh Gufa and Vyas Gufa, and finally to Mana Village, the last Indian village on the border with Tibet. Stay the night in Rudraprayag. Spend the night in Rudraprayag.

Day 11

It takes 140 kms and 5 hrs to get from Rudraprayag to Rishikesh. After breakfast, get in the car and go to Rishikesh, which is recognized as the "Yoga Capital of the World." Visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, as well as the nearby ashrams. Go to Triveni Ghat at night for the peaceful Ganga Aarti. Stay in Rishikesh for the night.

Day 12

Going from Rishikesh to Haridwar Get in your automobile and drive to Haridwar after breakfast to keep going. The holy Chardham Yatra closes with God's blessings and memories that will remain forever.
